Mission Statement

The object is to provide the educational climate and curriculum necessary to allow each student to achieve his/her fullest potential. Through a partnership of students, school staff, parents, and the community, our goal is to produce graduates, who recognize their self worth, are effective communicators, critical thinkers, effective problem solvers, and have the abilities and knowledge to be productive citizens.

Learning Goals

Students will demonstrate the following before graduating form West Monona Schools:
1. The academic and technical skills to secure employment or to further their education.
2. Citizenship through responsible ways of acting for the public good.
3. The ability to communicate effectively through listening, speaking, writing, and reading in a variety of situations. The ability to use problem-solving methods through relevant strategies and effective decision making while incorporating creativity and imagination. The ability to access and use technology in real life situations.
4. The ability to become a self-directed person by setting goals and working toward achieving them.

Curriculum

Long Range Goals:
1. To improve students’ academic achievement in Reading, Mathematics or Science in Grades 4, 8, or 11.
Annual Goals:
1. There will be an increase in the percentage of students scoring in the proficiency levels for Reading, Mathematics, or Science in Grades 4, 8, or 11.
Climate-
Long Range Goals:
1. Improve school climate to enhance student learning and provide a safe and drug-free environment.
Annual Goals:
1. To increase positive student behavior in the educational setting
2. To improve attendance through attendance policy

Comprehensive School Improvement Plan

Goals:
All K-12 students will achieve at proficient levels in reading comprehension to meet or exceed our district's trajectory expectations.
All K-12 students will achieve at proficient levels in mathematics to meet or exceed our district's trajectory expectations.
All K-12 students will achieve at proficient levels in science to meet or exceed our districts trajectory expectations.
All K-12 students will use technology in developing proficiency in reading, mathematics, and science.
All K-12 students will be provided a climate and culture conducive to enhanced learning, attendance, and a safe and drug free environment.
